HHA Responds to False Allegations

Houston Housing Authority (HHA) rebukes claims of constructing an affordable housing facility on a contaminated site. We assure our communities their safety is our utmost priority.

InControl Technologies, under the supervision of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), conducted extensive tests, affirming the safety and non-hazardous nature of our site. We remain dedicated to enhancing the lives of Houston residents by providing a secure, affordable, and high-quality environment.

HHA follows a rigorous approval process for building any community, with thorough inspections by TCEQ on the soil and water in the designated area, which is certified safe for residential use. The public can access these inspection reports through TCEQ.

Furthermore, the City of Houston is undertaking a Part 58 Environmental Assessment to ensure safety. We adhere to strict local and federal approval requirements.

Despite attempts by certain developers to deliberately spread misinformation, we will not be deterred from our mission to serve vulnerable populations with much-needed affordable housing our City desperately needs. Our clients and Houston, as a united community, deserve better and we will continue our impactful work despite these challenges.
